FSC Certificate

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international non-profit organization founded in 1993. FSC is a certification and labeling system that guarantees that paper and wood products carrying the FSC label come from responsibly well- managed forests and verified recycled sources. The objective of FSC is responsible forest management in a way that protects water, soil and wildlife. Involves all forest stakeholders, indigenous peoples, forest workers, industry and forestry owners. To date, 113 million hectares in 81 countries on 5 continents of forests are FSC certified, and this area is increasing. FSC is monitored by a third party.

SFI-PEFC Certificate

SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) is a fully independent, charitable organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management that is internationally recognized. SFI works with conservation groups, local communities, resource professionals, landowners, forestry stakeholders and countless other organizations and individuals who share the passion for responsible forest management. The forest certification standard is based on principles that promote sustainable forest management which includes ways to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species risk, and the forest with exceptional conversation value. SFI is a single standard covering 135 million acres certified to it across North America.

PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third- party certification. PEFC is a global umbrella organization for the assessment of, and mutual recognition, of national forest certification schemes developed in a multi-stakeholder process. PEFC has in its membership 35 independent national forest certification systems of which 25 to date have been through a rigorous assessment process involving public consultation and the use of independent assessors. These 25 systems account for more than 200 million hectares of certified forests producing millions of tons of certified timber to the marketplace, making PEFC the world’s largest certification system.
